Assignment: Talking Photo - Fotobabble
Uses in the classroom: This activity could be used in many ways in the classroom. It could be used to make in introduction as it was for this class. It could be used to link a photograph to a story or poem as it was in the example. Another assignment could be asking the students to post a photo and explain what is seen or how to do something. Some examples would be: to post a picture of his or her favorite dish and narrate the photo with the recipe, to post a picture of an animal and describe with facts about the animal, post a random picture and create a story about who it is or what is going on.
Issues to consider: Students will need access to a computer and the internet. They will need to be proficient enough to be able to learn how to use Fotobabble (maybe 3rd grade?). Photos may need to be approved by the teacher or could be chosen from a photo bank that the teacher creates.
